PHS Class of 1958’s 55th Anniversary

Call for Volunteers

OK, if you haven’t slammed your computer shut and run away by now, then you may be just the person to sit on the Reunion Planning Team for the 55th Anniversary of our graduation. The team that worked on our Golden Anniversary 50th Homecoming Reunion did a great job, and it’s going to be hard for the next team to do better. However, there were some things that perhaps you did or didn’t like, some things that you think should have been included, possibly you didn’t like the food at the Friday or Saturday events, the Saturday luncheon was good or bad, the high school tour was great or not so good, The Sunday services was good or could have been better. You may think the program was just right, or perhaps too long, and you either liked or disliked the music that was just right, too loud, not loud enough, or the band didn’t do the songs you wanted to hear or you loved the songs they did or perhaps you would have preferred a DJ doing “oldies.”

Here is your chance to make your argument for an even better reunion in 2013. Yeah we know, that’s a long time off, but you’d be surprised how quickly it will be here. We can’t wait until 2012 to start planning the event and we especially cannot wait to begin forming the new planning team.

First, you do not have to live in Pensacola to work on the reunion team. Sure, that would be great, but with computers and cell phones, you can do a lot from your home – the class needs your planning experience and your suggestions. There will be people in Pensacola that can do your “running around” if necessary.

Give it some thought – this is the “first request” for volunteers and if you’d like to sit on the planning team, then drop a line to phs1958@cox.net and tell us in what area you’d like to work. Small teams will be populated from within the committee that will be active in “finding a place”; “deciding on food”, “finding a caterer”, “tour of PHS”, “decorating the place”, “errand runner in Pensacola”, “sponsor finder”, “photographs”, “communicating with attendees”, “finances”, “creating a program”, “commerating the Fallen Tigers”, and so forth. Perhaps you know an activity that was not included by the 50th team? Well, now’s your chance to include it for the 55th – with you guiding plans for it.
